Newly Introduced feature in Odoo MRP odoo 10 – Scheduling Work Orders
There are 2 aspects of MRP II – Planning & Scheduling. Newly introduced work orders scheduling based on capacity planning. Two step – System generates MOs for you and you schedule WOs.
Work Centers Dashboard
As we can see 1st work center is green implying it has work orders, whereas the 2nd is orange which has nothing to do. So we click on Plan Orders and it will show all the MOs for this particular Work Center. The Manufacturing Planner can then go about to launch all the MOs.
This gives the flexibility to the planner under planning section and subsequently launch all MOs or Orders to Plan depending upon priorities based on expected date that comes from the Scheduler.
Once the MO is confirmed we can manually escalate it to “in progress” stage by pressing Plan. It will generate work orders that are the jobs to be done. It will use the capacity planning and Gantt chart.
Once we are done there we can go to Planning by Production and review by Day, Week, Month or Year.

Now when we visit the work center dashboard again, we find that all the work centers are green implying everyone has work to do.
